New Rukka Jacket from Mr Postie

Look what Mr Postie delivered to me today. :D

I finally got round to purchasing a decent motorcycle jacket. Used item from ebay, looks brand new. I am very impressed with the condition. I am very happy with it and it fits nice and snugly. The only niggle with it is lack of pockets. It has pockets but they are so small that it makes them pretty much useless. It also has some ventilation zips in the rear which I think is a nice touch. It has the Rukka armour in the shoulders and elbows but none for the back. There is a pocket supplied for it, so I may purchase a back protector for it at some stage.

Specs:
Elastic Cordura which is used as the face material
Soft cord effect in collar.
Tear and abrasion resistant GTX Super Fabric reinforcements

All round reflectors on the arms for better visibility in traffic. The Jacket is a supper fit and can be adjusted at the waist by belts. The front of the Jacket is equipped with two set of Zips a lug is provided which makes the zipper wind & weatherproof

Removable fleece Liner ideal for Winter/Spring

All I need to do now is save for some matching trousers and I will be kitted up ready for Winter.

That looks spot on mate.

I know what you mean with the small pockets tho, do you recon it's a safety thing? Ie, the less you can get in there the less that will stick into your kidneys if you came off?

Nice jacket, got to say I've never been a fan of pockets in a m/c jackets anyway, I'm an ex fireman, now a paramedic and the lumps and bumps in your jacket leave lumps and bumps on your body when you throw your body down the road

Pockets also leak water. I only have 2 small side pockets in my jacket and both are kept empty

I did think that, but then there is a mobile phone pocket right where my heart would be :confused I generally try to keep hard things like my phone or keys away from vital body parts. It's probably just down to the design, the pockets are more of a gesture. The ones on the front under the belt I can just get my fingers in, so not enough room to put my whole hands in if I was standing around in the cold. They would be ideal for phone and keys if they where bigger.

When I'm riding I don't carry much only the essentials which are my phone, wallet, keys, fags/tobacco and a lighter, and a packet of wet wipes for cleaning lid/visor. I'm going to struggle with that little lot. It may be time I got a small tank bag, though I don't like the idea of leaving things like my keys, wallet or phone in those sort of thing's.

Shall go for a ride tomorrow and see if I can work it out. Maybe a fleece jacket with pockets underneath instead of the jacket liner.

Hey I'm going to try the baby wipes for cleaning my visor Carl. Having two small ones I use them all the time! But when it comes to getting the flys and grease off my visor Iv just been using a towel and water, but it takes ages to get the smears out! Why didn't I think of that lol :-(

I just use the small tissue size re-sealable packets with sellotape . They are a lot cheaper than buying visor wipes and good for cleaning greasy hands and cleaning road grime of your face if riding with visor open a lot.

Spanish firefighter, that would be a bombeiro. I suspect a paramedic is a lot safer than a bombeiro with the forest fires they get. :eek2

Yeah makes sense mate will give it a try tomorrow, got rained on today and visor all speckled from dried rain. I like it to be crystal clear and takes me ages to wipe it clean!

I'm a firefighter over here and wouldn't dream of giving it up to be a medic ha!
