bought some gloves, helmet and boots off them couple months back (800quids worth) and they where all very helpfull and happy to take my money, gave me my guarantee for the stuff and sent me on my way. helmet and gloves are spot on but the boots arent up for it at all. they are sidi gortex (cost 315 quid). i thought i would be in safe hands becuase my last sidi's where spot on and lasted six years, but already on these i can tell there not going to last, the tread is already down to bair (just motorcycle use, no bloody hillwalking) and its rubbing where the gortex meets the plastic when i walk so its going to go through within the year.
so anyways i think for 315 quid they should last longer then a few months and go in to the shop to get a swap or a refund. and as soon as i show the bloak the boot, i knew i wasnt getting a refund. i showed him the sole and he just said "yeh there not meant for walking in", i said i dont walk in them i just use them on the bike, so then he says "well it must be the way i ride, its just wear and tear" they shouldnt be that worn within 2 months! so he goes and gets his manager, he comes storming out, picks up my boot says the same things, so i say to him "if i bought a pair of shoes for 315 quid and they wore out within 2 months i would want my month back??" then he says, "well all we can do is send them off to get them inspected" i told him thats impossible because i commute on my bike so need them everyday, which just went in one ear and out the other becuase he just kept saying it over and over then he started going on about how many of these boots he's sold and i'm the only one whos had problems with them, by this point he started to get pretty patronising and i started to get more and more pissed off, so before i lost it with him i just said "no worrys mate, i wont be back here again" and walked out.
whether the boots were fine or not it shouldnt matter, if i'm not happy with the boot he should keep the customer happy and give a refund, because i'm always buying stuff for the bike etc and i defo wont be going back there again. its seems like a big company too, so wombles knows why he was even bothered?? i'll be sending a formal complaint about how my issue was handled anyway and see if that gets anywhere, probably not lol.

That's what I'd do but initially (and I'm sure you know this already) make sure you remain respectful. I'd also drop in somewhere that you've been discussing it on here. Companies in a competitive market like this hate bad press of any sort.Kev L wrote:Sidi boots are imported by Feridax, a large concern to say the least. Feridax import Spada. I and a problem with a jacket, but they insisted on it being sent back which was unrealistic as I had to use it everyday.
Might be worth sending pics of boots and receipts at the outset. Good luck
