SIT DOWN AND HOLD ONTO SOMETHING...

Post by benny hedges »

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Honda admits plans for road-going RCV
Honda is to launch an ultra-high cost, super-sophisticated road-going replica of its MotoGP RC213V to go on sale within two years. That was the promise of Honda boss Takanobu Ito last week.

Nice but don't hold your breath, I vaguely remember MCN running a story about a road version of the V5 GP bike when they first went 4 stroke 990, 10 years ago. That didn't happen did it...

That looks fun, wonder what it'll do if you tune it a bit?

Nothing silly, don't want to make it unreliable.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

On that occasion it was due to be a celebration of two world championships for Mr Rossi, however he spoilt the party a bit by pissing off to Yamaha and kicking Honda's butt, they therefore shelved the plan. The story in MCN is quite in depth with quotes from Honda executives.
An interesting aside to this would be if they sold enough to homologate the bike it would then be up for use in WSB. Now that would be interesting!!
In the MCN article they stated the cost is likely to be similar to the Desmosidici, £40,000 ish, and that although the bike is likely to be very trick it is unlikely to be as quick as Tahitian Blue VTR's.

Its going to be an exclusive bike for people with to much money to spend, who will probably not ride it but store it in a garage and see it as a commodity rather than a motorcycle.

In other words, 99% of those bike sold will be bought by tossers.
