Wheel colours ??

Post by leevtr »

Been thinking of what colour to do my wheels when tyres are due. Can't be red ( as the bike is and would be too much ), don't fancy white, gold is an option, as is jet black.

However, I really quite like this.

Whaddya think ??

Go silver or black or gold blue wont work as it will slow the rotational force down and and with it slowing the bike down . And it will look kack :-)

that blue looks alright but you would have to have other blue parts on the bike for it to work, as that ducati has, i fancy doing my wheels in a metallic gunmetal grey or titanium finish...

I agree with Marty that with Blue you would need some highlights somewhere else. I personally have always thought the gold looks good with the Red keeping the Standard look. How about fluorescent green/yellow if you want something away from the norm.

Gold sprayed Hammerite looks good and is a nice hardwearing paint. Did my front gold, the rear a metallic blue. As it's yellow bike it has more than enough power to compensate for the blue drag effect. :D
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Used Hammerite Smooth when I did my last storm's wheels, in gold. Looked ok, lasted ok, would use it again.

Gold's an HRC colour .......
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

How about this one on eBay Gold with silver. Unfortunately they don't have a front to go with it,
