My storm is of the road for 3 weeks now and my wheels are looking a little nasty. Paint flaking in a couple of places.
What do we think about polished rims? Or is that a bit 90's?
Cheers!

Did you just high five me in the face?!?
Re: What to do with my wheels?
I've always liked that look but couldn't be doing with all the cleaning to keep them looking fresh.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

You can get em stripped and powder coated or painted or polished. Or to tide you over, use a small bit of emery to rub down the flaking area back to bare metal. Clean with an alcohol wipe, dry and touch up with a special metal primer for ally, let that cure then mix, in another sealable tin, some smooth satin black and silver hammerite to match the tone of your metallic dk grey wheel paint and apply a couple of coats over the previously primed patches.

That's an excellent idea, mix up silver and black to get the right shade and just brush it on to touch it up?
I had thought about touching it up but didn't think I'd get a decent paint match.
I can do this until summer and then I will strip them down and get them done proffesionally!
Cheers

Easiest thing is to buy a set of cheap wheels when they come up and have them repainted or powdercoated. Then it's a straight swap with new bearings, and you can then sell your ones to get the money back.
If you buy now you'll get them cheap; wait until spring to sell yours and you make a profit, too.
Or you could do up the second set and sell them as shiny ones, you'll get more than the cost of the paint or pc as an extra.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
