Flat bars again....

Post by firestorm996 »

Eyup

Cant find the original thread but someone requested a piccy of me flat bars. I can only find a piccy of it half-done (without the bikini fairing etc) but here it is anyhow. This conversion uses a billet yoke instead of risers & drilling the yoke.

I haven't refitted the fairing yet, but when I do it will need some trimming to clear the brake reservoir etc. The bike's more agile and chuckable without the fairing (psychological I guess) but although I have a bikini headlamp unit I've got no rev counter, fuel light, oil light etc. I fitted a sigma bike computer so I have speed & trip guage tho.

It's waay more comfy, the bars I got are actually no wider than stock clip-ons believe it or not. They're lifted up and back about 4-5" I reckon. It's like riding a bandit 1200 now :wink2

1200 bandit is the most uncomfortable bike i've ever ridden. felt like my nuts were getting pushed into the tank. very strange position it puts your hips into. does this ring a bell with anyone else or is it just that my pal has crashed his bandit so many times that its f#@ked.
Rich.

I was only referring to the bandit 12's bar position in relation to the seat, nowt else. :whatever

Sit on yer VTR, then grab hold of some imaginary renthals, positioned about 2" back and 2-3" up from the stock clipons and you'll start to get the idea. :plainsmile
