tbh when i got my sp1, after riding my storm, i was like ...yes? and?
i have to be honest and say i actually preferred the firestorm.
took a lot of work to get it there but its quicker, out handled and outbraked the sp1.

sp2 is different again though

I sell Moriwaki ST1 camshaft kit and Moriwaki 10.6 :1 piston kit, which includes head gaskets, for £1325.00 GBP delivered to any UK Mainland address. :) I only have two (possibly one) ST1 camshaft kit left from the purchase of the last six kits produced by Moriwaki.

Are you thinking of manufacturing your own version, given your knowledge of the bike or do you think demand would be too low to make it financially viable?

FAO Cybercarl. Hi Carl. Which is the AU firm selling Moriwaki oversize VTR valves and ST1 cams? I am in constant contact with Bill at HPower and he bought a set of ST1 cams from me to rebuild a guys engine which I brought with me to AU to save him delivery costs and I bought the last oversize valve kit of him in August 2012. I visited Mick Hone's shop in Box Hill, Melbourne just before Christmas and he had only Moriwaki SP1 slip-ons left. Honda AU only sell moriwaki exhausts and rearsets etc for more modern bikes. I am curious to know the retailer. :)

Hi Kev. I have thought about doing this as I already do performance billet camshaft kits complete with Valve spring kit for SP1/2. The problem is that they are very expensive to produce in small batches and represent a big capital investment on my part. The SP kits retail at £1650.00 GBP in the UK but most of the sales are in the US,NZ and AU. At the age of nearly seventy I have to be careful on my investments as I may not live long enough to get my money back!Based on the demand for Moriwaki ST1 cams that I still have in stock I am not convinced that there are enough VTR / Superhawk owners wanting to upgrade there engines with ST1 camshafts that would be around the 1k mark or ST2 + Valves spring kits at £1650.00. I can supply if there is the demand.

Roger hope you had a very pleasant Christmas and happy new year to you. It was the HPower site I was looking at. I have just been through my bookmarks and had another look and it appears you got the last set of valves. I was very tempted! They did have a picture of them on the site early last year. Not there now though. As for the cams it's just what they mention with their Engine Performance Kit, no mention of what stage they are or even if they are Mori, though looking at their dyno readout, it either is or was the stage 1. It's amazing how rare all this Mori stuff is getting now. Soon there will be nothing left :( it's becoming a part of history.

Have you got any books or ever thought about writing an autobiography on your life working with Moriwaki and the workings of the VTR1000 as a race machine. A little something that can go down in history and passed on to future generations.
