Ignore them. Listen to me. Matte black is incredibly exclusive, you can join my black brigade. I'll be the leader cause I have the only original one but I'm cool and amazing. What's not to like?

That is the million pound question. The problem is colour comes down to personnel preference and it's not easy choosing. Does one go with a standard Honda colours and keep thing original looking. Do you want your bike to stand out from the crowd. Does one go for something totally different. Then there's the expense as some colours/paints cost more. How does the chosen colour go with the frame colour and wheels etc etc. Not an easy choice.

Don't paint it black, it will become lazy and refuse to work, and taxing it will be awkward haha
