Hope somebody can point me in the right direction, just got my 'storm and love it but was wondering what people had set their suspension as, i don't really understand what it all does and whether i should tinker or not

Try these settings they are from Performance bike mag. I found them a good starting point. I just backed off the pre-load on the front a bit because I found it a bit too hard
Performance Bikes settings
Rear
Preload - Position 2
Rebound - ¼ of a turn out from full in
Front
Preload - 2nd groove showing
Rebound - ¼ of a turn out from full in

isn't it too much soft?
I'm on the 3rd (riding alone) and 4th (with a passenger).
position 2 on the front may mean 2 straight appearing? i'm on 3rd too, it could be a little harder to be on the 2nd outside of highway when there are bump on the road....
what do you think about it?
