Hi, If it really is an F2 or F3 (not an old stock FX/Y) then if you change the cans you'll need to blockoff the "pair" valve system or it'll sound like one of those Farty sounding fireworks all the time.. got cans on mine with std air filter and blocked off pair, runs fine.

F3 should have gold/bronze engine cases and black faced speedo & rev counter. F2 has black engine cases and a white faced rev counter (I think or it might be the speedo! ).

F3, should have lcd display on righthand side of clocks. if you look at the front cam cover you'll see an extra cover on top with a hose coming out the side, thats the pair valve(reed) cover for the front cylinder, you'll also have a fuel range of around 150 miles as it'll have the larger 19litre tank, also under the seat on the subframe will be a white sticker with F3 on it. there's other differences too but these should tell you for sure, there were alot of late registered earlier models.

After the ccts have been done I'd look at fork springs and rear spring change . Then brakes then a bafflectomy :-)

welcome to the brotherhood buddy...
post some pictures when you get a chance. cct's are the most important, as for cans, good quality ones will probably not need rejetting, but if you decided to get a k&n filter the bike will need regetting and possibly dyno time. if you don't want the cans to be that loud, get road cans or race cans with db killers.
lets hope we see some more sunshine so you can have some fun with your new toy...

Change the colour

As has been said cam chain tensioners are the first thing to do so it's is mechanically safe. Have a read the workshop knowlagebase and there's loads of ideas and info in there.

Welcome

Welcome M8. Blue is the best colour   BTW there is a whole section on removing the PAIR unit, I have done it to mine which is an F2 model. Below are the links to the method & parts you will need.

Here is the thread on the removal of the complete unit.

The link shows well how to do it. on mine i didn't do block off plates, i just got some rubber hose with the correct inside diameter, cut it short and put a cut down bolt in the end then a zip tie around them, did the same for the airbox too. cost nothing as i had some hose lying around.
Warning note though, blank off the air box from the outside as shown in the link, DON'T blank from inside the airbox, the pressure will suck the blank straight into the carbs. sounds obvious when you think about it but some people won't.
