jf you had money to spend on your bike

Post by agentpineapple »

hyperthetically speaking, you have £5000 to spend on your bike/clothing, the only thing is, you have to keep your firestorm/super chicken and not trade it in, so what would you do?
heres my thoughts.
quickshiter
brembo pads and fluids
top quality tyres
wavy discs galfer/armstrong
new leathers,boots,gloves and lid
some nice tools maybe, if i had a garage i'd deffo want a bike lift
then theres mario nava's bodywork or lightweight wheels.
so what would you do?

Am I allowed to leave as is and pocket the cash. No! Ok Nava bodywork, Marchesini wheels and let Tony loose on the motor. £5000 might be a little light!

USD reworked Fireblade forks (only really for the bling factor)
Bembo brakes (calipers and master cylinders)
A top of the range Penske shock
Sticky tyres
Lighter wheels would be good
Then see if I had any change left :)

USD forks, done... (which also takes care of the brakes...)
braced swing arm, well, yes and no, sort of...
Upgraded shock, done...
Fixed the useless light, done...
And while I haven't let Tony play with my engine, I'd say 130+ on the wheel is enough for now...

That leaves flashier/lighter wheels, and finish fitting the 19 Litre tank, and a nice new paint job, since the one I have is crap, and the new tank doesn't match... Also, re-fixing my GSX-R mirrors with indicators that I dinged up yesterday...

So that leaves a fair share for tires, fuel and track time...
Image <--- The result of OCMD... I gave up listing the mods in a sig line...

iirc I read somewhere in another thread in which thumper said they are not proper Ohlins.. That they are kind of dodgy fake Ohlins on a lot of the Aprilia's and not the full sha bang so would you like the chance to change your list?

I'm Pretty happy with the road bike so not going to spend any money on that one.. think I just want a nice set of wheels and maybe forks/rear shock for the next build.. The change I would spend on learning how to ride the bike properly.. is that allowed?

Why ask... sometime you just go to do it and find out?

Fit a new under tray and seat unit, brembo brakes, double bubble screen, powder coat wheels, and pay for Tony and Carl to come to my house and tune my bike properly
