Fork or not to fork

Post by victor »

Hi all
can anyone tell me the amount the forks should come through the top youlk by, and if adjusting it makes much of a difference(F2 model).

The standard "protrusion" is in the Haynes manual and I can't recall what it is offhand, but, from standard, I've dropped the yokes (or raised the forks, if you prefer) by 8mm. Turns in very quickly and doesn't run wide. Also had forks resprung and a different rear shock, which all contribute. Bike can turn and corner a lot quicker than I can!

Std they should measure 35mm from the top of the yoke to the circlip on the fork top - or if the bars are still on then I think it's 3mm from top of the clip on to the circlip (I think as I'm running renthals)

Thanks for the replies.
I have the groves on the fork legs but no circlips in them.I wasn't sure if the clipons are suposed to come the bottom of the groves or if there is a gap between them.
