Hi, im new to this site and have been recommended to join, this is my situation. I have to sell my bike (need the cash), I decided to put it on ebay within an hour of listing the bike id had numerous emails from people saying they are really interested. I then got an email from a kind ebayer asking me if I was aware that my bike frame is very rare Spondon Racing Frame and that there was only 6 ever manufactured and now only 5 in existence. I didn't have a clue, im not an experienced biker to be honest. Ive since taken it off ebay and just need a bit of advice really ie, where would I go to sell it and what sort of price should I expect? the bike is blue and is immaculate. Could anybody give me any advice.. Thanks in advance.

Greetings
The original ad was posted on here somewhere. You might want to read this thread to get some insight on the bike's frame.

Very nice but without the spondon swing arm and yokes it's only half as good sadly .
The frame has also been modified to take the swing arm so that to will lower its value .
I did think it was over priced for a "streetfighter" even with that frame .
Best of luck with the sale

OK who told him about the frame then.

Don't forget the Spondon rearsets as well Lloyd.
As for the value it's hard to put a price on it really especially while it's on the bike unfortunately. If you where to sell it you would make more selling the frame on it's own. Maybe you should consider putting a standard frame on the bike and either make adapters for the rearsets to fit the standard frame or sell them either separately or with the Spondon frame.

Well if you want to be picky !
It's also missing the spondon front and rear sub frames

.
As you said Carl it's very hard to put a price on the bike with that frame sadly a standard model in good condition is worth more but if you did fit a standard frame and then sell the spondon on eBay auction we all would know how much it's worth .
Agent p how much did you pay for yours with the spondon swing arm ?
I line the revaluation racing frames more

I'd be interested in Frame/rearsets. If that was the route you wanted to take?

And rearsets.

I figured the rearsets are a bit more of a vital piece with the Spondon frame, otherwise one has to make something up like what has been done.
For a second when reading the thread title I thought we had finally found the 5th one.

Well at least we know three are road bikes and and one scraped and the other one hidden in yetis parts keep
I think we need to start a log of the registrations of the road bikes as colours and styles change with every new owner .
So when the mysterious number 5 turns up we can rule the others out if it's been road registered .

my one
yeti's 2
this one
and I've seen pics of a yellow one with a black spondon frame.
I think 1 was destroyed
that's your 6.
I bought my frame, rearsets, swingarm and a few other parts 2 and a half yrs ago, I won't disclose how much I paid, but it was cheap. having said that the price seems to be going up, as you guys have said without the other parts its of course not as valuable.
oh and you forgot the dymag wheels, blade forks the list was endless, but in all fairness, if you had all the items you'd probably be sitting on 50k worth of bike....

And the rest . Yetis stage 1 cost 24k to build and that's a road bike .
The stage 2 and 3 must be closer to 100k in r&d and the build .

definitely spondon, no stamp tho, you only have to see the welds to know its spondon. I know the dutch racer(can't remember his name) had a similar set up welded to his bike.

If you follow the links in Wicky's post above you will find more info on the bracing.
