Front brake hose - routing
Front brake hose - routing
Hey folks, can anyone with a 2 hose front brake setup do me a favour and post up a pic of how you've routed the hoses from the master cylinder down to the calipers?
Mine have been on for a while now and work fine, but I've a feeling they're not quite right....
Cheers!

Re: Front brake hose - routing
No pic I'm afraid but I have (sitting on the bike) the left one's banjo closest to the M/C then it runs behind the forks, through the pipe clamp & onto the calliper. Right pipe just runs behind the right fork & through the pipe clamp onto the calliper.
Hope that helps.

Master cylinder
One leads down to the left
And one to the right
I haven't got a pic of the actual routing down through the fairing but there's not many options.
Wait....hold on, this may help.

Cheers mac, at the calipers themselves, are the banjos attached with the hose end pointing up or down? ie, does the hose go in a downward direction to the banjo, or does it go down, then loop back up to the banjo?
Hope that makes sense!!

Banjo up, hose up. You don't want any loops at all, air can get trapped.mattster wrote:Cheers mac, at the calipers themselves, are the banjos attached with the hose end pointing up or down? ie, does the hose go in a downward direction to the banjo, or does it go down, then loop back up to the banjo?

IMO the hoses should go behind the forks. the standard ones do after all.

Re: Front brake hose - routing
Just make sure you don't route them behind the triple clamp as they can get pinched between it and thew frame if you do...... and then bad things happen......MacV2 wrote: IMO the hoses should go behind the forks. the standard ones do after all.
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.
Re: Front brake hose - routing
hi guys,
A question regarding the master cylinder.
Did you have to cut off the branch that extends out from where the banjo's connect?
When I connect the hoses one of them sticks out towards the front and catches the clocks on full lock.
cheers

I cut mine off to help better fitting :-)
Re: Front brake hose - routing
That's what I thought but didn't want to butcher it if I had the hose in the wrong place to start with. Better to be safe than sorry [WINKING FACE][THUMBS UP SIGN]
