cheap touchscreen tablet
has anyone had one and if so, did you have a good or bad experience.
i'm thinking of buying one to keep me entertained whist flying.
if I spend £100 what will I get for my money?
I know I will have to wade thru a lot of silly replies....

The samsungs ones similar to Galaxy tab (can get free with a relatively cheap phone) are good little numbers and operate Android and have a good range of apps etc available. The other option you could consider are the kindle fires or Kobo colour e-readers that you can also put videos etc onto.
Re: cheap touchscreen tablet
We bought a cheap Chinese one off amazon last Christmas for my 4 yr old. Didn't want him dropping a ipad. It was shite. had to remove all the software and install the English version and even then it couldn't handle constant wifi or downloads. Pay 100 quid and you'll regret it. Only good thing is he didn't break it so will but a better one this year.

What about something like an eBook AP? One of my friends swears by one, think she has about 400 books on it. They're really good apparently
Cheap tablets I wouldn't recommend though, there's more luck going through a larger, more reputable manufacturer

You cant go wrong with a samsung galaxy tab 2, I bought my mrs a 10 inch one for her birthday (oooherr)
its plenty fast enough for multitasking etc and unlike an ipad it does flash/doesnt rape your bank account

Cheap tablet ?
Rohypnol it will knock you out for the flight with the added bonus that you wont be really annoying the poor git sitting next to you, unless you snore that is...
Failing that I'm with Wicky buy a bloody book & save £'s...

I have one of these and it is blindingly good, as is the next gen evidently. Superfast, direct plug in to the google environment, Android whatever the latest version is is slick compared with iOS. It is light and save a packet compared to an iPad. As Lloydie says, you get what you pay for, in this case a huge amount of value for money.Flatline wrote:The first generation Nexus 7 is £139 at carphone warehouse

Meant to add - the best thing for a flight is noise cancelling headphones imo

I agree, I love my Nexus. Great bit of kit that does exactly what it is meant to do.BigVeeGrin wrote:I have one of these and it is blindingly good, as is the next gen evidently. Re: cheap touchscreen tablet
I have recently bought a Lenovo tablet. 10.1inch screen and it is just a good at the Samsung tabs and half the price. Mine was 200quid from Tesco and you get 5 quid off a case when you buy it at the same time. Well worth the money I think.
Re: cheap touchscreen tablet
You can hit two birds with one stone and get a Samsung Galaxy Note phone thing too, my friend has one and it's the size of small TV
He loves it though, it's sort of halfway between a tablet and a phone I guess. He uses it on the train Journeys when he comes back from Uni every few weeks
