What are you listening to.....right now?
Re: What are you listening to.....right now?
A quick catch up
1 gig 3 weeks ago, English Teacher at the hare & hounds near Birmingham. Can’t Reccomended them high enough, I see they were on Jules Holland Later just after we saw them 2 gigs last week.
Little simz, in the O2 in Birmingham…because my daughter loves her. Not my genre of music, but I enjoyed her performance.
The next night an unknown Australian band called Dust with only about 50 people in the hall. They were good.
Two gigs this week.
Thursday was Sister of Mercy at KKsteelmill in Wolverhampton ……. Support band called the virgin Mary’s were great, Sisters of Mercy were less than average.
Friday was the Rezillos at the Assembly in Leamington Spa ….. support band was the professionals, which is Steve Cooks band (he was the drummer in the sex pistols), they were ok. the Rezillos on the other hand were fecking epic. Still don’t take themselves too seriously, but have all the energy they had at 18 even though they are now mid 60s, and the vocals are still able to hit all the same notes.
Top of the pops, destination Venus, I love my baby cause she does good sculptures, somebody’s going to get their head kicked in tonight, no …. I forgot how many good songs they did
But feck me the crowd were old

Twin Atlantic tonight at the Forum, Tunbridge Wells.

Re: What are you listening to.....right now?
Mad Dog McRea tonight in Tunbridge Wells.
Jiggly Irish sort of music, but I'm not sure if they're Irish.
I've seen them before but can't remember them
So either they were very good and I drank too much, so can't recall, or they didn't make much of an impact.
We'll see

Recently discovered that I actually really like Joy Division! Can’t explain how it took so many decades to switch on to them. In a totally different direction, I stumbled across “Freestyler, wacka macca fo! Great tune with a cool pop video on YT. Can’t beat a bit of NIN now and then tho.
Did the Glasto thing the year that Faithless played and Rolf Harris slayed Sunday, and am pleased to report that I only had 3 hours kip the whole weekend (hero!) then drove back to Penwith ( idiot!)

Went to see deadletter last week, support band were sh1te, but deadletter were great.
There was a good mosh pit going, so I was having a good laugh down there till the lead singer landed on my head!!.
I was too busy keeping an eye on the others in the moshpit and hadn’t spotted the singers plan to stage dive!
Off to see Sprints on Friday then Overpass on Saturday
