Clear rear lens

Post by Watty »

Anyone point me in the direction of where to buy one? Can't find any on Fleecebay! Prefer the clear lens and red bulbs rather than red lens or even led's :?

Watty, I struggled to find a clear lens rear light with bulbs so made my own. Bought the cheapest LED one I could find and a second hand red lens stock version. Heated them up and seperated the lens and fitted the clear one on what was the stock housing. Anchored with clear mastic it works a treat.

Kev, nice job  Where did you get your red bulbs from, and have you got the number plate lit, as I think that is needed for the mot?

I do chuckle when you see the latest gixxer with an r&g plate light angled so it's blinding the car behind that's illegal

I bought the silvered bulbs which show red when illuminated but to be honest they were pink at best and following Lloydie whining like a little girl after the Monopoly run  , I bought some red coloured bulbs which are a lot more distinct. Purchased from E Bay (of course!)
Something like these -

To be honest they barely made pink! They were going to be an obvious pull at some time, so the red lens bulbs went in soon after the run.
By the way Chris your little dancing VTR has gone AWOL again fella.

Your pink bulbs secret is safe with me  I was wondering if something like this might be brighter http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-T20-580-W2 ... 258018093b

It's strange how the dancing VTR's keep disappearing and reappearing

Building your own, or adapting something to fit?
