The price of a rear cct failure

Post by freshfunkmeister »

See the "my bike died last night" post as to what happened. Got a call from Dobles today about the price of the parts needed to repair bike. The rear 'chain jumped and wrecked all 4 valves (front ones all ok). The whole lot (chains, guides, tensioners, valves, gaskets , etc etc) need replacing at a cost of btwn 4-500 quid. Add 6 hours odd labour and a 40,000 mile service and I am looking at a repair bill probably in 4 figures. Great, all the money I was saving to turm the storm into a track bike is now being used to repair it. Back to square one. wombles x 1,000,000,000 etc etc. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :!: :!:
As soon as I read about the dangers of drinking too much, I immediately gave up reading.

All donations will go towards the completion of the car. Thank you.

(don't get me wrong ... it's still crap!! ) But on the bright side ... you have money to pay for the damned repair bill ... I had to wipp out the plastic for the privilege.
Cost me £540,- for the same failure - the mechanic took pitty on me and knocked off a few labour hours.
