I'm shipping my bike in a container from Canada to UK in March. Wondering how to ship without it falling over during the voyage. Thought about a parking stand like the one below...any ideas or thoughts?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

When the bike magazines have shown shipping they have purely put in a wooden box and strapped it down in it!!

Would it not be cheaper to sell it there and buy a new one here ?

Just google steel stand for motorcycle on ebay.
There are loads of options, anything designed to strap it down for van transport will do fine.
Strap both ends.
You will probably want to screw a plate to the floor of the crate to strap to, as the floor, if continuous, will have no places to hook straps.
Buy something that you'll either be able to sell on or use after the journey's over.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Thanks guys....I did consider selling the bike and buying another VTR in UK once we arrive...but it took me ages to find a real clean bike, with great service history and good options. It's a lovely bike!
It's been minus 40 here last week so folks are just not buying right now...and we come back in March...so still way before bike season. I paid around 2,300 pounds for the bike and don't want to give it away after just 6 months of ownership, hence the idea to bring it back with me....
