Engine tapping noise

Hi, I'm new on here so here goes lol

I've just bought my first 98 plate vtr with 7700 miles !
Been out 3 times and noticed a tapping noise but it's intermittent ,
It's gone now but at the time it was loud ! Any info on this would be much appreciated thanks

where is it coming from? because they make noises from everywhere. everytime I ride mine I find another noise lol I
