Dead Instruments !

Post by Brian »

Can anyone help , please ? !
Motoring along a dual carriageway in the dry I noticed the speedo and rev counter are reading zero ! Fuel guage and mileometer have also gone . I stopped to have a look and the headlight had also gone off . The headlight fuse had gone and when I replaced it , the light came back on. However , the instrument panel fuse is intact but - still not working .
It's an F2 and has done 8k miles . Six months ago the lights and panel both fused in very heavy rain but this it was completely dry today .
Any thoughts ?

Mine died yesterday outside a pub, stopped for a fag with a mate, turned the key, click, nothing! :( Checked fuse box, none blown, rear cowl off master fuse OK. Put back together, started. Went in for a coffee, came out nothing. Check each fuse 1 by 1, take out, put back in, turn ignition key, systematic elimination. Fuse for Prime, instruments and position light, turn key all systems back on, :) check next fuse, turn key, dead, :?: check other fuses still dead, push wiring loom around a bit, all systems go :!: Right straight home.

New in March 2004, 3500 miles. Bugger, return to base, let them have a look at it. Strange thing is I am now on my 3rd battery, they keep draining and won't hold charge, even though run on an Optimiser, and no alarm fitted. A fault in the wiring loom me thinks, let the dealer trace it rather than me, something of a black art are electrics.
Slow in, slow out. Ohh err missus, now with added G-Force carbon fibre race cans. Sounds like a Spitfire.
