Fuel sender question.
Fuel sender question.
Odd question probably, but anyone know if the sender arm can be pushed down by hand through the filler hole ?? If so, mines jammed up, hence no fuel light. No matter as I have a spare, but wont have the chance to deal with it till Saturday. Cheers chaps

Re: Fuel sender question.
No you need to remove it as the rubber that sits at the end of the arm lays on the floor of the tank well it should do
Re: Fuel sender question.
I thought that was a float and it lifted with the fuel level ?? I know the arm moves freely when you take them out.

Fuel sender question.
The arm is fixed and shouldn't move . There's a censor about an inch above the rubber and that's what knows when the fuel is low(on a 16l tank)leevtr wrote:I thought that was a float and it lifted with the fuel level ?? I know the arm moves freely when you take them out.
Re: Fuel sender question.
The clue is in the word sender
As Lloyd said it shouldn't move and picks up the signal when the fuel reaches it. Hence the reason for only an RLOD. The later models came with a float which gives the fuel level throughout. Hence the fuel level Gauge.
In answer to your question...if you have an extra small hand then you will get it inside the fuel cap hole.

Ok, looks like a Richard sender then...either that or it doesnt work with a 19 litre, but I doubt that.
