They are bloody cheap, but I've read mixed reviews.

As a good, cheap set of tyres, I'd have a serious look at these.

Just because they've been superceeded, doesn't make them a bad tyre. They were standard fitment to some very good bikes a few years back.

Or if you can stretch to another £50, get Michelin Pilot Road 2's. Last forever, with more than enough grip for anyone on the road ( and probably on a track to ! )

I second the pirelli diablo's. Used them on the hornet and had soooo much confidence in them, lasted ages too (then again, the hornet was only putting out 25ft/lb's of torque  ) but I rode through all sorts of sh1t with them and they didn't miss a beat. Tempted to get a pair for the storm but unsure of how long they last

Funny, that's how mine ended too

9,000 miles. Still had enough tread for another 1-2,000 and I got a nail. They might just be unlucky tyres to own

This was on the hornet, putting out a grand total of 25ft/lb's torque with a top speed of 100-ish. Plus I actually entered corners at speed on the hornet

Mostly cause I didn't give a flying wombles about it :p

I might have to try some harder tyres in a couple of months, I've got a Europe trip (1800 miles) a couple of days after the Yorkshire run!

I've been thinking about them since you recommended them to me in Wales.

I think Carl has them on his bike (?) And wasn't impressed with the flat profile.

I'm willing to give them a go though as they are very popular for my kind of riding (mixed bag of sport/touring).

Thanks Magnum, do you think he would do a decent price on some pilot road 3's?

Mine are PR3's which are touring tyre. Love the rubber but not the profile. I'm thinking of going for Dunlops next time around. I love Brigestone BT23's which I have used in the past on other bikes, but I'm not sure about wear with them on the Storm.
