Brakes (again)

Quick question as I know thissubject has been covered plenty otimes previously, I've been thinking of ditching my OE brake calipers and fitting one of the alternatives, CBR 600, SP1 etc for some time and just want to know if the 02 CBR 6 setup is a wiorthwhile option?
if so how does this sound value wise, or is it to expensive and I should wait for something cheaper to turn up?

those are the correct ones, but you will get hit by import tax

buying brakes from the usa is so much cheaper than the uk, as Al said, just be careful of the import duty. a few months ago I bought a pair of sp2 calipers for under £50 from the usa, in the uk the same calipers in the same condition would have cost me in excess of £100...

Would cbr 929/954 calipers work, does anyone know? I have been considering these? The earlier blade calipers look to be identical to the vtr calipers.

thanks for the input chaps, I think the best course of action is to email the seller see how they label/value the package, on the ebay listing it suggests import duty of £26 which makes the parts approx £90 inc purchase, shipping and duty, starting to sound a bit expensive, anyone suggest a cheaper US supplier or is it just pot luck?

or look on german, french, netherland etc ebays - no import tax within Euroland

They are all outwardly identical, having the same mounting holes and using the same pads. There are, however, some differences in so far as the piston sizes are concerned. IIRC:
SP-1/F4i/98-99 Blade: 34/32mm pistons
929: 34/30mm
all others (SP-2/pre-radial 600RR/954): 32/30mm pistons.

You will have to choose your MC in relation to what you end with.....

one of the plus points of the kit I was looking at was it included the MC
