Which heat resistant material?
Which heat resistant material?
I'm just about to start preparing the Power bronze lower I bought from AP for painting! So, was wondering what heat resistant material anyone may have used on the inside to try and eliminate heat damage from the headers! Did a bit of a forum search but couldn't really find much. Opinions and recommendations please gang

Hi-temp heatshield mat stuck on with hi-temp silicone adhesive.

I used one of those plumbers mats that you use when you're soldering joints near a joist etc, you can get them from B&Q, Screwfix or a plumbing merchant for about a fiver, cut it to shape and glue it in with stikoflex or simillar, worked for me

How about a lovely piece of brown or blue asbestos? Just drill a few holes and bolt it on.

Carefully slice some extra mature cheddar, about 10mm thick and place in the most exposed areas you'd like to protect from the heat... hey presto, heat protection and sophisticated, delicious fast food on the go!Watty wrote:Thanks lads, anyone else want to add to that
I'd go with either suggestions above

I'm living dangerously and not using any heat protection on my powerbronze lowers, seem ok so far.
