I'd have thought they're putting it back to standard to sell it, and getting their money back for the trick bits.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I`m sure the bike was listed on ebay within the last couple of weeks as a track bike......new owner out to make a buck or worth more in parts to the original owner if it didn`t sell.
