My latest acquisition...

Post by mik_str »

http://www.ebay.com/itm/GALESPEED-JAPAN ... 85&vxp=mtr

Should work well with my existing set-up (Daytona 675 Nissin monoblock calipers, Zcoo pads, Braketech Axis Cobra 298mm rotors, braided lines). Will give me a bit more mechanical advantage (and likely smoother action) than the OEM Ducati cast Brembo 18 x 19 I have on now......

I am also working on another brake-related surprise which will likely materialise in the next day or so.....

Ooo that's a bit tasty. Talking about brakes I want to get myself a return spring for the rear master cylinder like the following.

Now I know what your like for a bit of Carbon. How about a pair of these Rotors. :biggrin

A set of CMC rotors is precisely what I am working on. problem is you can`t get them (new) anymore (supplier issues, Braketech is unable to get the CMC material supplier to provide any more), so I am working on a slightly used pair.....

interesting rotors. should greatly reduce rotating mass. like getting lighter wheels. imagaine a set of those and forged alum wheels. flickablitly

carl, i also want one of those brake return springs for the rear master. do you know what size is needed? the spring on the after market rear set works great, just not as much back pressure as i like.

Now imagine them on magnesium wheels (my PVMs), or possibly carbon wheels (BSTs in my future?)........

i wonder how the longevity for lighter rotors such as the ones talked about are? i thought i read that the GB rotors actually have a longer life than standard street rotors.

eventually, when the time is right ill spring on a set of some really light wheels. that in combo with a 520 chain conversion, possibly an alum/steel combo sprocket, lighter rotors etc... would prolly net you much better performance than any marginal HP gains from engine mods. they are just so damn expensive. plus you have to buy a set and usually that means a 6" rear wheel. is there any 5.5" mags? i saw a set of marchesinis on fleabey for an RC that sold for around $800. but the back wheel is unusable. at least without custom work

CMC rotors are said to wear better than stainless or iron...... better grip, lighter weight, less wear... just a heck of a lot more expensive, if you can even find them anymore......

I think it's 1.25 the same as a pressure banjo or rose joint.
