i'm lost for words

Post by agentpineapple »

now there's a thread title you never thought i would post....
as some of you might know me and carl met up with paul in covent garden on the saturday of easter weekend. we all parked on the motorcycle bay, when we returned to our bikes, i'd recieved a £40 ticket, at the time i thought it was because my bike was barely inside the parking bay, as you can guess i wasn't happy :x
i read the ticket and it said i hadn't paid to be on the parking bay.....doh!!!!
because i rarely take the bike into central london it had slipped my mind that westminster council now charge motorbikes to park.... :Argue 1:
at least i was the only one to get a fine, as carl and paul hadn't purchased a parking ticket.
when i got home i was still pissed off, so i contacted westminster council via the interweb, here's my grovelling message....

Comments:
whilst parked in the motorcycle bay on Southampton st at 13:00 on the 19/04/2014, I believed it to be a bank holiday weekend, and as such there was no payment required, I understand this was an over sight on my behalf, is there any way the fine could dismissed as I honestly thought I was parked legally.
kind regards
martin veck

well today i recieved this in the post.......

parking fine quashed........
a result in my book, i really wasn't expecting that, i best do the lottery this weekend.....
thankyou westminster council.......

Wow, that is a result.

Here in Oz that would never happen.

They now patrol free car parks in vehicles equipped with cameras and if you are in contravention of the rules, e.g park on a line or exceed time you get a nice fine in the mail to the registered owner with a photo of the infringement and a nice fine.
