Anti Stall Kit

Post by VTRDark »

I came across something interesting while doing a bit of surfing. HPower either make or used to make an anti stall kit (HPEC-001-2. Hpower VTR anti stall kit) which I've not heard of before. Anyone else heard of or tried one of these kits. I'm trying to work out how this kit installs from what I found :confused At first I thought it says that the elbow gets attached to the main air jet on the carbs, the same one a flow commander attaches to. But after reading it again it sounds like maybe it attaches to one of the jets (if that's what it called) at the bottom of the carb throat near the throttle plate. I know one of them is connected to the A/F screw because squirting carb cleaner in there comes out one of them holes. It's a bit confusing, can anyone else work this out.

Here's what I found. Looks like It's a copy of an email sent.

I'm curious, especially as the email subject is hard braking flooding fix which I thought related to the two pipes that run through the centre of the carbs and this sounds like it has nothing to do with them.

I'm not sure I understand what this would even do? Is it for performance or literally just keeps the bike from stalling?

Certainly not a performance thing. I don't know if you have heard about the two carb breather vent lines that run between the two carbs. There's a known issue with these where the right angle bend where they run through the carb plates blocks these and can cause the bike to flood/stall under hard braking.

This kit sounds like it's to solve that problem though there is no mention of the two lines I mentioned above which is confusing. These bike have a tendency to cut out now and again for no apparent reason. Adjusting the TPS, carb balancing and making sure there are no intake or exhaust leaks helps but does not always solve it completely. I thought maybe this kit would help with that issue. Don't know

I have a bit of a fetish for carbs and carb tuning so I'm curious as to how this works.

No this is to cure the same problem as is fixed by rerouting the vent lines.

As you have such an interest, I'll shoot you a PM with the what, whys and hows when I get a chance
