I have done Rons school 3 times, once on the 600's 2 times on the Blades. Helps that my mate used to be one of the instructors for the elite sessions so I could get late notice discount if I could join a session that wasn't well booked.

There is a lot to learn at a school like that that will help your bike control on the road, it's not all about racing

I did it a few years ago, what a great day. Ron was a lovely bloke who had time for everyone. When I was on track for my second session Leon Haslam and one of his race mates were out playing on a couple of blades. I thought i was doing well and getting a move on until Leon passed me round the outside. He must have been doing 30 plus mph more than me and made me feel like getting off to see if I was still moving!

Sounds good that Seb.

Sounds like you have learnt the basics so might be worth having a think about a standard track day at Donington, it's cheaper and you get 7 full sessions instead of 3. There are instructors there and they give free 'lessons', follow you out on track etc.

Sounds like a fun day out. Can you use their bikes so you don't damage your own?

Yeah Carl 295 quid you use their bikes, can use all their gear, when you think about it it's not a bad price, as you don't pay any extra if you smash the bike to bits they laughed it off when two guys on my session smashed them down the road. Petrol, tires, instructor, bike, brakes, full gear, ambulance, debrief, goodies, drinks.

When you think of the wear and tear on your own bike if you hammered it like one of theirs it saves you a fortune, as you would want new oils, filter, pads, tires, risk of warp discs, fuel, and if you bin it down the road then your gutted

When you put it like that it really is a good deal and like you say it don't matter so much if you crash. Their insurance must be phenomenal :eek2

They have a mechanical team constantly working on the bikes they have plenty to use and turn around, it's an official Honda set up so think they bikes are either given or got cheap, one thing I will note the brakes on the CBR600 was mind blowing!

Don't know what pads and discs they was but was standard calipers, absolutely phenomenon the power they had, made my gixxer brakes feel like dog sh1t

Thinking about getting the CBR callipers and master on mine now I liked them that much.

Think you sign a thing in documents to say your not going to sue should you mess your self up etc

Yeah I'm looking to get a bike just for use on the track as well as my road bike, looked a renting a bike and doing a track day, costs was sill as you had to put down a deposit and of you crash you don't get that back, track day was like 150, bike rental 250 plus 500 deposit, so crash it and your not to far off like 1500 for a used track bike off eBay

I have been reading up on the 600rr recently. They are good bikes and cheap to insure. The newer ones have ABS which helps with the braking plus they are radials. They also have larger fork tubes to stiffen up the front end and keep it planted as you brake.

Don't be silly SP's are like group 17 and the 600rr is 15, roughly same as the Storm. Obliviously this is estimated as it don't take where you leave or the age of the rider and stuff into consideration.
