Brakes...Speedo Healer....MOT

Post by bigrich »

Not been about for a while but thought i would mention what ive done the last couple of weeks.

I thought my brakes were a bit sluggish and bar was coming back a fair way to the lever, so i took the calipers off, pistons out, new seals and everything cleaned...WOW! feels like a whole new system! if you have standard brakes and want improvement definately give it a go! cheap and my brakes must be 30-40% better! I also put on some cheapy hong kong levers off ebay (£17) look just like ASV or Pazz levers.....really decent quality and nice feel to them!

I fitted a 15 tooth front and 43 rear last year and the speedo has been someway out...although it was nice when the speedo said 170mph thought i better do something about it....picked up a speedo healer version4 on ebay....awesome bit of kit! about 5 mins to fit and program (easy to use app available) and is perfect! would recommend big time!

Oh and it passed its MOT today wahoo!!! Isle of Man here I come!

Happy biking people

Make sure you have a little clearance between the lever and piston in the front brake master cylinder as most levers put constant pressure on the piston and over heating the brakes warping the discs .

Welcome back Rich.
I agree, servicing brake calipers does make a noticeable difference, especially if they've not been done for a while. I can also vouch for the speedo healer
