Flat track race Coventry speedway may18th
Flat track race Coventry speedway may18th
My mate Les is racing in the British flat track series and the 2nd round is at the speedway track in Coventry on Sunday 18th.
It's only his 2nd race but if the first round is anything to go by it will be action packed. 12 bikes in 3 rows mass start where in speedway there is just 4 bikes. All on 450 mx derived flat track specials and a few of the BSB boys are in the pro group.
Practice starts at 11, I will be heading over about 12 to see what the crack is. Any other midlanders welcome to come and have a laugh

Yup the track near lloydie, should be a good day for the kids as I think you can get in the pits and see the riders getting readyVirt wrote:The one in Binley Woods? May be up for that

Re: Flat track race Coventry speedway may18th
well Les's preparation is sounding a bit like Popkats from last year.
the CRF450 engine was blowing a bit of oil in the 1st race so he decided to get it rebuilt. Les doing the top end and he sent the bottom end to the local Honda MX dealer.
todays news is the bottom end has been abused by a badly trained spanner wielding gorilla and balance shaft, crank seals and gearbox selectors were missing chunks which were inturn clogging up the oil intake and there are so many stripped threads that it wasn't worth rebuilding. so he has just got another 2nd hand engine for them to rebuild and as they don't work Saturday they are on a tight deadline to get it finished by friday night.
but he has got one of the other competitors to volunteer a loan bike if the CRF is not finished, so 1 way or another he will be racing

Is there a cost to get in and watch this, by the way?

yes, but I can't remember how much, I imagine between £5 and £10, but no refunds if I am wrongVirt wrote:Now that's sportsmanship!!

Fair enough, I'll bring some cash.
Looks more interesting than that shitty bike fest they're doing right outside my block of flats

Now if I get kermit back together for Sunday and money and sunshine permitting I might be going for a good run as I need one with all the sh1t that's been going on this week so might not be there .
Re: Flat track race Coventry speedway may18th
I'm pulling out, had 4 hours of my work day wasted because of my apprenticeship assessor. Left in such a rush that I didn't catch my work PC's latest TeamViewer code so I can't even do my usual 2 hours in the evening, let alone catching up on what I missed, and he's coming again tomorrow apparently! argh!

Practice starts at 11 racing at 12, so I was going to have a ride in the morning and get there just before 12. If I come to your house first then we can take the bellypan off and chuck it into your garage
