Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
Their both knobs. The cyclist is knob and most likely a mr up himself suit (looks like he's come straight out of Parliament) that believes he has every right to ride down the middle of the road like that which he does. But that still inconveniences other road users so he has no consideration and in my eyes and what he is doing is like sticking two fingers up at them and saying I have the right to be here so I shall, what you gonna do about it. I will also add the law is a knob too as I believe cyclists should have every right to ride slowly on the pavements too, especially when surrounded by busy major roads where they have to endanger themselves.
The motorcylist is a knob for filming the incident and an even bigger knob for publicising it. He could not have picked a worse place to do that either. Lets hope the Queen wasn't looking out her window at the time
He's just a knob head video blogger and making something out of nothing. He could have quite easily gone around the outside of the cyclist which is what I would have done even if it mean momentarily playing chicken with oncoming traffic. wombles em let the oncoming traffic have to put their foot on the brake at least they can see you coming. It's battle ground getting around London and it's everyone out for themselves to get from A to B as quickly and easily as possible. Especially when already frustrated from sitting at the lights beforehand which if you too slow you wont make the next ones and get stuck again up by the palace. The system is designed in such a way to make things as difficult as possible for all road users causing frustration and stress which why incidents like this happen.
The copper wasn't too clever either as she could have reviewed his footage as she had not witnessed it with her own eyes. But at least she was doing things by the book which is rare these days and really nice to see. As public servants they are not allowed to view the footage unless the guy is arrested and the footage taken as evidence. So got to give her her dues for doing the right thing there
Most likely only because she was in a touristy area and/or had better things to be doing or just couldn't be bothered as knowone was hurt.
I have been stopped and searched a few times and had coppers wanting to view camera footage under the so called anti terrorism laws bullshit. I would have been OK if dressed as a Japanese tourist but I wasn't. What do you do in that situation argue the point and get arrested under something they will make up off the top of their head just to inconvenience you and give them the one upmanship if they are on a power trip or let them see it. So it's rare for me to give praise to plod, but credit where credit is due.

Motocyclist a total rock. Look at the road markings, the cyclist was in the middle of a NARROW cycle lane. Looks like on eof those lanes up to the advance box. Whatever, no excuse for punting through a non existant gap like that! We think motorcyclists come off worst in accidents, cyclists are way more at the mercy of the rest of the traffic than us, and yes I know a lot can be idiots, but that guy was just minding his own business.
Budget storm gradually on the road to spangliness.
Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
motorcyclist is a Richard riding in a bike lane then being so stupid as to ride into the cyclist
he should have filtered in between the cars and gave the bike room

told you not to but oh no you knew better
Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
I'm not even sure if that is a cycle lane. You don't normally get cycle lanes down the centre of the road and also they should have painted cycles on them, plus it's weird the way it comes to a sudden stop which would leave a cylist stranded in knowmans land. That's on Constitution hill approaching Buckingham palace it could be some kind of road marking for ceremonial purposes or laying out barriers.
The motorcyclist was still out of order though just so he had something to film.

At the end of the day I don't understand this us and them attitude, wether car, bike or motorcycle its someone's mother, father, son, daughter and so on, the motorcyclist was being a knob the cyclist should have been on the left side, and would have been better off, I think the motorcyclist was just being aggressive and it went peter tong. At the end of the day I want to get home in one piece so does everyone else so there's no need for this kind of crap.
Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
I blame the Cabbie...If he wasn't there blocking the fecking road in the first place there wouldn't have been a problem ...
Biker was a nob as he should have seen the gap closing, he's obviously not very spatially aware. The cyclist has every right to be there & should have lamped the biker !
The WPC was a bit of a minger...

Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
this is constitution hill, and its not a cycle lane, its an area of tarmac that separates the different carriageways, so the cyclist is riding one handed whilst on the phone and on a section of tarmac which he shouldn't have really been on.
so he's not doing himself any favours in fact its plain stupid.
having said that the biker was also a tw@, all he had to do was wait a few seconds and pick a better moment to overtake. i'd be interested to see what the law has to say about it. because both parties are in the wrong.
just another day in London town.....

London is manic, when i met AP and Cybercarl is was so wary of bloody cyclist just riding wherever they like, dropping off kerbs, darting through small gaps etc. The bloke on the bike didn't have a gap and could have waited 5 secs more for the taxi to move. The cyclist wants making an example off as he was on a phone. the lady police officer wasn't a "minger" in my opinion but then again iam 56

missing the noise, not the vibes. However never say never!
Re: Motorcyclist hits cyclist, and posts video of incident
The sad truth of the matter is that knowone gives a "blankety blank" about anyone else and it's everyone out for themselves trying to get from A to B as quickly and safely as possible. Especially in central London, and if your foollish enough to start caring about other road users and pedestrians for that matter, then your going to leave yourself vulnerable and open to attack from all directions along with ending up driving /riding like miss daisy to get from A to B who are a danger to themselves and others. Your also most likely going to end up being involved in an incident of some kind for trying to do the right thing. One might as well walk if you take this approach.
You are forced into driving/riding aggressively defensive, by the system (placement of no right turns, lights, camera's etc etc) and the shear population overload. This is not to say that a little courtesy doesn't go a long way as it makes one feel better and little less stressed. 9 times out of 10 you wont get any thanks for being courteous though. If we all drove/rode by the book then the system would most likely work a hell of a lot better but because the majority don't it doesn't work.

He's not on the phone, just bored of sitting in traffic and resting is head in the palm of his hand. That's what cabbies do

correctamundo carlos, the cabbie is bored stupid, and we nearly all tend to rest our arm in that way. trust lloydie to pick on a cab driver when he's done nothing wrong.....cybercarl wrote:He's not on the phone, just bored of sitting in traffic and resting is head in the palm of his hand. Apart from not paying attention to what's going on around him...If he was more attentive he would be aware of the cyclist & the m/c coming up on his right & could have given the M/C more room or at least accelerated a bit harder...agentpineapple wrote:correctamundo carlos, the cabbie is bored stupid, and we nearly all tend to rest our arm in that way. trust lloydie to pick on a cab driver when he'scybercarl wrote:He's not on the phone, just bored of sitting in traffic and resting is head in the palm of his hand.
