while I was out riding today I noticed a rattle that sounded like a bunch of keys jingling, can anybody shed any light on this (not keys really jingling as checked only to realise there is only 2 keys ;-)),
Hoping it's not the achieves heel,
The bike had the cct's changed in 2010 but automatics were put in.
Thanks in advance
high pitch "tinny" rattle
Re: high pitch "tinny" rattle
You haven't got a tin of rattles under the seat have you ?
Hmmm CCT failure is gonna sound more like a paint can of spanners being rattled ...
Autos can go at any time, you rarely get a warning beforehand.
Post up your location & maybe someone local can cast an ear over it ...
It's probably something working loose.
My bike developed a strange noise once bugged me every time I rode it. Only became loud enough to hear at high speeds.
Drove me up the bloody wall trying to figure it out...
Turned out it was the new jacket I'd bought flapping in the wind...

Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Keys rattling a bit like pinging. What octane fuel are you using and your not lugging it about are you. Are you hearing the noise more under load like when going uphill.

Just premium 95 octane. It does it more on acceleration

Check that the cam cover vent to airbox pipes are connected properly, they cause odd noises when not put on properly.
Also a loose link pipe or exhaust leak can cause ticking noises, sounds mechanical but it's gases escaping.
Look for sooty marks at the joins, or a split behind the joined exhaust pipe section just under your right foot. The weld goes occasionally.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
