Post by Kev L »

Info for anyone with Continental tyres -

Pretty horrific if it let go on a high performance machine with a fast rider. As a matter of interest anyone what Benny had on the front of his blade?

Not that I'm running Continentals myself, but cheers for the heads up Kev. Good thinking about Benny's bike, certainly worth looking into,

Chris.

Not mentioned in the recall but I've seen a lot of the cheap conti motion tyres with deep cuts across the centre of the tread about inch and a half to 2 inches long, looks like the tread is separating, I don't recommend these tyres unless someone really wants them, I can usually find an alternative at a similar price. Not seen any problems with the tyres mentioned in the recall though.

This is very important... Benny parted with his beloved SP1 and aquired a fireblade... I distinctly
remember that the first back tyre on it was replaced quickly after only a couple of thousand miles.
.he really liked Dunlop Sportmax tyres.. swore by them but who knows what he had on the machine in
Lester Drive Liverpool on that fateful day :(
Continentals get em off
