Battery time again
seems if you ont charge the mottobat batterys they die if not trickle charged only 14 month old and its dead any suggestions

That applies to any m/c battery - non-use can leave them unable to hold a charge. Whatever you get next do make sure you carry out regular care & maintenance and give it a trickle now every two weeks or so to keep it charged to 100%.

A battery can only be deep-cycled a limited number of times before it is indeed dead.

it may still be worth some tough love to resurrect the old one. I have it on good authority that dropping the battery onto a concrete floor from 1ft or so will act to disulphate the plates, and then put it on a smart charger with a recovery charging program.

worst case you split the casing and have to buy a new one, but other than cleaning up the acid , that the same bout you are in now.

my mate said i would need a new battery every year

if i don`t put this on my storm struggles to start after 2 weeks
but using this it starts first time every time and the battery is know about 3 years old
