Re: still the best looking VTR out there
way to expensive imho, very nice bike tho, for that money i'd be wanting a blade front end or at least upgraded brakes. I also think the rear indi's are circa 1975.....AMCQ46 wrote:its for sale again, cant remember which one of members built it and which one bought it. Still love the look

I will say it's one of the nicer sssa conversions, some of them look awful, but this one looks spot on...

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: still the best looking VTR out there
I agree very nice
It reminds me of Brian Lights(sp) bike, rumoured to be the very first bike to have the SSSarm conversion, although his bike only had one can on the lefthand side of the bike so you could get full view of the swingarm.
I wonder what insurance companies add on if you tell them the bike has a SSSarm conversion
Chris.

Re: still the best looking VTR out there
I doubt most companies would insure it and if the did, it would extortionate. I think when it comes to that sort of modification one needs to go to a specialist insurance company that deals with custom bikes. It certainly would not be as cheap as a standard VTR.I wonder what insurance companies add on if you tell them the bike has a SSSarm conversion![]()

Unfortunately I was thinking something along those lines myself Carl. Is there any member on here who has actually insured their SSSarm Firestorm, out of interestcybercarl wrote:I doubt most companies would insure it and if the did, it would extortionate. Re: still the best looking VTR out there
Are you seriously considering going down the SSSA route then Chris. That would be some serous modding for your Storm. I have vibed you like the style.

Might be cheaper to insure if you brought a vfr800 and wedge a vtr motor in to it :-)

just don't paint it green

whats the big deal with a sssa again?. I thought the most important thing about swingarms (along with lightness) is stiffness/strength .
is a single side as rigid as a braced one like jamies? ?
I think the bike for sale is a bit pricey.

No don't paint it anything other than a standard colour as this paint job has cost me x3 now :-( .
The sssa is just for looks nothing more

There's got to be something right with sssa.. the new KTM super Duke (or whatever, the 1290cc beast) has a sssa and that makes something like 180bhp and 105ft/lb torquelumpyv wrote:
