VTR BHP?

Just looking for spare parts on a major bike accessory website and it seems dependent on year and chassis number the VTR has differing bhp figures?

According to the one I have just got, it has 110bhp but some are less.

Would someone clarify please?

100-105 is about right for one with race cans .
If you really want to know what it has as all are different stick it on a dyno

Ive used dyno's for years in motorsport (cars mostly) and they are a brilliant tool.

My question relates to the standard specs. Do Honda quote diferent BHP's for VTR's (excluding Sp models of course)

Yep early models have a few ponies more than the later revamped models .
95-100 be good for a standard one

We should arrange a drag (as in race type not... er) race.

Come on it's a fact that Black is fastest as it requires less coats to cover. Simples!!!!

As for BHP does it matter, they are all going to be a bit different. Take the same bike to the same dyno on a different day and you will have too different results.

As I have posted before, in the early days, when the Firestorm was first on the market, motorcycle magazines were showing the Firestorm to be making around 103 to 105 bhp. When the later models came out the motorcycle magazines were saying the newer version was producing around 4 or 5bhp less. Whether that is true or not who knows, but it does fit in with the general trend of motorcycles from the big Japanese four manufacturer's, in that the first version is usually the unrestricted/detuned bike.

The colour thing is most likely along the lines of the different coloured dots on the CCT's

Show us your Teal read out that says 108...?

my old early model blue bike was dyno'd at 112bhp...
I won't mention the previous two dyno runs tho.......
iirc the late model was down a few bhp because of the pairs system, put in place to meet emissions regs.....
once you remove the pairs system it should bring it back inline with the early model.
