Yes but standard is better unless you want to spend a few hundred on Dyno set up for 1-2 bhp

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

even the K&N and BMC filters don't use a bigger element than std, they still have a large plastic plate.

K&N has a reputation of being hard to jet for [as its so free flowing], and unless you have a good few engine mods, it wont bring you any performance benefit by its self.

BMC do a street filter which is half way between std and K&N, it works well but you need to import them

and like Lloyd says, the std filter works great with some jetting mods and race cans.

the bottle is a catch tank for the engine breather pipes at are fitted in each cam cover, many people have put filters on the breathers and removed the bottle to increase airbox volume

Art cans , yes you will need to play with the jetting .
Pilots normally up to 48s .
But as always a Dyno run will show you what you need to change

Stick them on, it wont be that far out unless you go changing the air filter from standard. Jetting is not absolutely necessary and you may run a little lean, (noticeable by by popping on the overrun) but If you want perfection and max performance then carb tuning is the way to go. There's a good chance you already have 48 pilots, so shimming the needles (if standard) and a little tweak on the fuel mixture screw would most likely be all that is required.

That's the cheap option  otherwise you can get ripped off and go and buy a jet kit like Dynojet or equivalent. The only benefit of an aftermarket jet kit is the adjustable needles, unless you want to go the full hog and get sucked into the whole Dynojet trip. It more important to have the carbs balanced/synced, especially after making any carb adjustments with jets/needles/mixture.
