opinions on spada boots

Post by agentpineapple »

have you owned or do you own spade boots, if so what's your honest opinion of them. my old sidi's are getting past they're sell by date, so I will deffo need some new boots before the next riding season.
I've been looking at a pair of SPADA ST1's
all comments welcomed, both positive and negative................

My old boots were Spada's.. comfy, warm, waterproof and all the good things. But they weren't tough, had loads of holes in them within a year so I had to switch

I had some spada touring boots, can't remember the model and the sole just fell off one of them.

It really depends on the type of riding you do, I’ve no experience with Spada so I can’t help there, what I will say is I was in a similar situation earlier this year, my Sidi boots were getting really uncomfortable (my feet seem to have grown!!) in my experience Sidi make great boots but they are very race oriented ie strong and functional rather than plush. I looked at loads of boots and there are some really nice boots out there, the ones that really impressed were by Held, ski boot type fitting top quality but £275 !!!
Dainese and Astar also have great boots but again expensive, in the end I bought some RST tractec evo boots, last years model (although I couldn’t see any difference to the new model) and a bargain at £79!! I think the RRP is around £120 but if you shop about you will find them discounted (I got mine from Nobles) but even at full price they are decent value.
Don’t let the apparent low price put you off they are equally sturdy and well built when compared to more expensive alternatives, CE approved, lots of armour and a strong twist resistant structure, the best thing is they are comfortable, I’ve been wearing mine all summer and can’t really fault them, well if I’m being picky they are slightly bulky when compared to my old Sidi race boots, but I suppose this is to be expected as they are way more luxurious than stripped to the bone Sidis, all in all I’d recommend you have look at some RST boots. I’m very happy with mine.
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .
