Hydrographic dipping
Hydrographic dipping
Anyone tried this ? A mate has just had all the bodywork of his Katana dipped in carbon effect then lacquered, it looks amazing and just like real carbon, much cheaper than carbon, cheaper than a paint job too

this is just the first company to come up on a google search, carbon looks great, it seems you can have whatever finish you want though, impressive..

Re: Hydrographic dipping
I've been following this on the practical sportsbike facebook page, stunning finish...
i'd love to get a front mudguard done by them, atm I have a pair of mirrors that have been dipped, but the so called carbon effect is naff, your friends one on the other hand looks the business, best I've seen yet.

Re: Hydrographic dipping
Thanks ap. Local lad to me did these. £20 for mirrors & £5 extenders. Nice finish. You probably need to see it in the flesh before you buy. I am happy with the results

Re: Hydrographic dipping
I like the fact that the whole mirror is covered rich, but malc's guy has a more modern carbon pattern, something that's been needed for a while now, btw I've twated my mirrors(that have the same look as yours) several times whilst filtering thru London traffic, proper scuffed them up...

HEY YOU GUYS!!!!!!
Re: Hydrographic dipping
How do they stand up to knocks and stone chips etc, I would guess just the same as paint as they're lacquered ?.
Don't think I'd have mirrors done but Carbon effect wheels would look good.

Re: Hydrographic dipping
my mirrors look rough now, as you say it's like paint, and just as prone to damage, at least with paint you can touch it in, not so with a pattern...
I looked into getting wheels done 2 yrs ago, but it was expensive, about £100 a wheel, because a bike wheel has to be dipped twice, once on each side, where as a car wheel only needs one side doing. things might have changed price wise over the past couple of years tho.
