Choke Problem

Post by happybeaver »

Hi Guys
I pulled the choke out this morn to start her up and it came all the way out!
I dont think the cable has broken but there no tension and the choke no longer functions.
Is this a relativity simple fix?
Any advice would be appreciated
Cheers

Take the tank off & look at the carb end of the cables, it splits into two. The nuts that hold it in place on the carb mount are only plastic & can break.

It maybe that it has just come adrift of the bracket that holds it at the frame.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

Ok...well it seems the plastic housing where the 3 cables meet has broken..chokes working and in place other than that.
Do I need to buy a whole new choke assembly just for this part?
Cheers

Argh your talking about the bit that sits under/next to the small coolant hose. The end caps come off that plastic splitter section. They might just need pushing back into place if they are loose and flapping around. If they wont stay on and the little tabs are broken you could possibly glue them into place. If the cable itself has broken then you need a new one.
