led sidelight

Post by agentpineapple »

today I received a parcel from a very nice chap from Belgium...
Damien de bruxelles is an active member of one of the facebook pages, he recently made a special insert containing 12 led's for the sidelight.
the workmanship looks spot on and it works very well, I might go back to the standard clear lense as well, I think the dark lense looks better, but isn't as effective.
the cost is 35 euros, just under £30 , and these are a hand made product, maybe not cheapest option but the price does include shipping from Belgium.

if anyone is interested just pm me and i'll put you in touch with Damien,,,,

hi lee, yes mate, they have the same connection as a normal bulb, takes two mins to fit, unscrew the lense, remove the bulb, plug in the new set up and re-screw the lense on....
I didn't even have to call carl.....

none you cheeky sod.....

and chris, the light that's emitted is so much brighter than just one led, and infinitely better than a standard bulb, you have a total of 12 led bulbs, a cager will have a much better chance of seeing you with this sidelight.

GIT.............. :Finger:

just chatted with Damien, he said he can produce one with blue led's, but it won't have the same level of light intensity, it will be more for style than function, but he can still do it.
I now have damiens email address, if anyone is interested pm, oh and he is only producing a small number of these before xmas, more will be made in the new year, this isn't damiens business, this is a hobby and he's not looking to make big profits, he said it takes over 3hrs to make one unit..

I'd toyed with the idea of doing this not long after getting the storm, but thought sod it and plan to go down the angel eye route instead.

Should've started making them for £35 a pop!

It wouldn't assume it will make any difference to the cagers though. Not in town anyway. It does look food though and should help at night.

I realise they ain't that cheap, but they're custom made by a one man operation. as it stands they are £30, if Damien lived in the uk, they would be nearer £25, still not cheap, but he isn't going to get rich either....
what's he likely to sell 50ish, next year Rodney we'll be millionaire's...............
