Folk here have said the later model speedo is harder to read...
It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

It's easily done. The biggest issue is the fuel level gauge (not a light). This requires a float in the tank instead of the fuel level sender unit. You also need the later model coolant temperature sender unit (Green plastic bit on thermostat housing). Then there's the wiring block on the dash which is different. No biggie though as you just get the right plug then cut and connect the wires to that.

The one big advantage with the later model clocks over anything else is that they are made for the bike, therefore the RPM scale is accurate and there are no issues with connecting and accuracy of speedo.

I'm in the boat of not liking the the later clocks speedo scale. It's all positioned wrong for me.

I see so would it be easier getting a tank as well from the same bike the clocks are off or that taking it to far ideally would have liked if such is made to buy plug and play now the kosov dashes are nice again relay on the wee pickup magnets positioned on the front wheel

Hi, this would be as easy as any bike but I think a VTR does not Rev too high? I might be wrong but the revs on this go up quite high? Thanks now is he right with the revs

Yes, good luck with finding one though.

As long as you remember the red line is lower your OK. But yeh he's right. It means half the scale is only there for show and not used. A bit like the later speedo we was talking of earlier

Looks like the big red light is a shift indicator light. You should be able to set this to an RPM limit of your choice and when you reach that RPM it will come on. Match it to just below the Storms red line and jobs a good one.
The RPMs will still display properly as long as you have the unit calibrated correctly.
