New Bike

Post by freshfunkmeister »

I have a new bike. Hurray !!!! I will be keeping the firestorm for use on the track though. The new bike is a 600cc hornet, all done in the black/yellow hornet colours with a streetfighter front fairing. It has a wee touch of accident damage ( small dent in tank, scuff on clutch casing and rear panel ) but thats all. Bought off good ol' e-bay for £1700. It is a 99 model with 21,000 on the clock. I will post a photo on th site when I pick it up at the start of next month.
As soon as I read about the dangers of drinking too much, I immediately gave up reading.

I sold my Hornet just last summer for Storm. Hornet is a great bike, thou mine had PROPER suspension :) White Power at front and Ohlins at back :) this is why I sold it with loss of only 200 Euros after 3 years of riding it :)
And as soon as I got my Storm I sorted suspension and brakes fist thing too :)

Freshfunkmeister, I also recommend to visit Hornet's Nest website - to be fair, one of best "model clubs" with extremely friendly bunch of people and nice rideouts. I am still chatting there - with same nickname....

Looks like lot of ex-Horneteers ride Storm - Trojan, Mart, me :)

So, what is bad about the suspension and what can be done about it ? I have only ridden a later 04 model and that seemed fine to me. :?:

If you really want to sort the suspension out get yourself a complete front end off a Mille. I fitted one to mine and it transformed the bike in both handling and looks.

I'm actually sad that I sold my Hornet but I could'nt justify owning two bikes.

Get yourself onto the Hornet's nest, it's their version of this group. I visit from time to time.
