how come ??
how come ??
you never see any of them sv1000 suzukis anymore ? see quite a few sv 650,s they got very good reviews
was the 1000 cc version so rubbish they have all disintegrated?
did they not sell many?. loads of members on here have got multiple bikes but cant think of anyone on here ever mentioning they got one. similar concept to the storm .
I don't think I,ve seen one for about 5 years ? ?

Re: how come ??
I see one usually once a week, know of a couple of others about too, they were never a massive seller, more steady but they are about, They came out when the V-twin boom was pretty much over. They sold a lot more 650's as they are a good bike for newer riders. They're a good bike and like many have their own niggles I'm sure, corrosion hits them hard if ridden through winter, heard of cranks failing too as TL1000's can.
Unlikely to see any firestorm owners with one as too similar.

Re: how come ??
Not sure when they stopped making them. Think it was around 06/07? I always fancied one in there anniversary colours. Saw one once with a full yoshi system on it. Sounded fantastic. But I owned a 650 and it was nice, but you could tell it was built to a budget.

Re: how come ??
my mate had the copper coloured one, very cheap as nobody liked the colour, quite quick 122 BHP but the suspension was jittery.
Sounded good but corrosion was a killer on them.
Sorry never ever liked suzuki,s

Re: how come ??
Dont think you will see many as most Suzuki's self destruct after about 5 years.

Re: how come ??
From a couple of friends that had the SV1000's, there were "issues" with the handling. They described it like there was a hinge in the middle of the bike. Maybe they didn't beef up the frame enough when they made the jump from the 650 to 1000cc engine and it was easier to kill it off than fix it. Also I don't think they actually sold that many in the first place.

Re: how come ??
I nearly bought one!
was looking for something to replace the Storm with and I could have bought a nearly new one for the price they were selling at ,at the time. Glad the SP came knocking when it did or it could have been a whole different story.

Re: how come ??
Had a sv1000, not great handling and really flaky finish, pretty bad as my 1998 blackbird looked brand new next to it.
Re: how come ??
i live in a small street about 20 houses ,and theres two of them in the street
. had a ride on one of and have to say i liked. prob sharper up the revs than a storm but finish wasnt great and handled a bit strange, but if i seen one cheap id have it just to kinda have.. still rather have the storm.

the older i get,the faster i was

I also heard and read the finnish was utter tripe on them, they wasn't really a sought after bike, the smaller one is and was far more popular.
