My new Storm

Post by BrianC »

As many of you know I already have one of those really fast dark blue metallic storms, so when I bought another guess what colour it happened to be??????

I couldn't really miss it as it was a very low price, albeit having suffered a front cct failure. Typically the previous owner had bought the manuals and not fitted them until he heard a noise - he then tried to fit them and hope for the best!!!

Anyway he had spent about £500 on this bike with new tyres, new reg, chain and sprockets, manual CCTs, full service etc but just wanted rid so good for me.

So here it is:

It does have a scabby rear spring so I'll be looking for advice as to how to get that off and maybe powder coated??

Image

It also has some aftermarket cans which I can't identify so I've put some pics below in the hope someone can tell me what they are???

It has only done a guaranteed 22k miles, so as soon as I can get that front head sorted we'll see how she goes

They are nice

Good find...so what's happening with the CCT failure then. Head transplant/swap or are you going to go digging and repairing things.

I'll get the head off when i can get my bike lift free then take it from there. I already have a front head with bent valves and a perfect rear so i may go down the convert the rear.

Also pocked another spare engine minus front head so lots to keep me busy !!!!

Not Harris, no legal E1 plate on Harris pipes...trust me...

No Pic of the end of the can but IIRC it has Harris logo as per the Hanging strap as seen here...

Also no bands around the end cap...

Check the link pipes for the lovley 'Lobster' Back as well, no good Harris pipes would be without them...

But much worse is that the rod is pitted...That shock could well be scrap...!

As Mac says Harris cans ain't road legal and they loud, doesn't stop me running them though  .I'd say that someone has riveted the e1 plates on and if you look under there you'll find Harris stamped in! At least that's where mine are stamped!
