New 'stormer needs suspension set-up know how!!!

Post by roger118 »

Hello there chaps,

I will soon be the proud owner of my first 'storm and was wondering what the options are for suspension upgrades taking into account i do like my trackdays

Assuming i can get hold of a relatively standard suspended scoot, what pearls of wisdom can you fine upstanding members of this here t'internet webermyjig type thing pass down to me.

Thanks in advance,

118.

(It's a long story  )

Welcome to the board Roger!

If you want the best and have teh cash then you should speak with your name sake Roger @ revolution racing http://www.revolutionuk.co.uk/ 8)
Just search this board for all the other options - there are loads around.
For the cheapest option look in the galary under 'Misc' pages 8 & 9 where you will find the perfromance Bikes settings and advice. (best to save to your PC as it's too small to read in the gallery)

Good luck!

Try this thread,
http://www.abercon.co.uk/vtr1000/phpBB2 ... ins+spring

Basically 2 options on the forks:
Budget:
Replace the springs & oil and fit them yourself

More money:
Send them off to Roger at Revolution

Rear end:
Whilst not being great its not a limiting factor on track, just make sure the linkages are nice and clean and greased

However an aftermarket shock is noticeably better and can be had for £500-ish new or £250-ish second hand

[b[Brakes[/b]
Fit Bendix supersport for track and road use, they're BRILLIANT!!
and don't forget to clean the brake pistons on a regular basis

Suspension set up

Post by Orange Robbie »

Hi Rog,
Nice to have you on board. :D
I live in Macc just down the road from you, and work in Didsbury, just up the road.
I will be taking my machine to KIAS of Atherton in the near future to get the suspension played with. I belive the cost is around 40 notes, mate of mine had his RSV Mille set up by them, said it was a totally different bike, totally nuetral.
May be worth speaking to them as it is just up the M60 and along the Carrington spur.
Slow in, slow out. Ohh err missus, now with added G-Force carbon fibre race cans. Sounds like a Spitfire.
