Good point Marty  Taking of good earth's, your starter motor normally earth's itself where it bolts on, so watch those area's are paint free too,

Did a little bit of painting today to make sure I had the right colour for the engine.

Pictures probably don't show as good a match but it's pretty dam close. In quite happy with the colour.

Last one doesn't look right as too much light got in through the window.

It's not perfect but certainly better than it was a few hours ago.

Thanks fellas. Happy with it as it was quite badly corroded.

Engine is pretty bad but gonna make a go of it tomorrow if weather allows it.

I sh*t you not it's a toyota based colour. They gave me a book of about 1000 shades of grey..And it was closest.

Turns out to have dried a good match

The bottom part is obviously what I have painted. Top has only been wiped to expose some paint behind the grease.

Engine is going to be a nightmare to paint on the frame.

I painted the frame recently as well as the rear subframe. I made a start with painting the engine but once I had a good look I realised I could not do much of a job with the engine in the frame.

That really annoyed me as I have never taken an engine out before.
I also decided that I am going to powder coat the frame...subframe..including front subframe...and the swingarm. Costs more but I just want it to look right.

Took me two and a half hours to get the engine out. Spent about one a half just trying to get the rear mount points past the rear cylinder area. Was very frustrating.

Anyway it worked out and I don't think I caused any damage. Got a little messy as I kinda pushed the engine out sideways.

Can only imagine how hard it will be to get it back in.

Bringing it to a very helpful man on here to have checked out before I do things to it and paint it.

This was me WELL out of my comfort zone. I'd recommend anyone that feels the same to just do these things and think about it afterwards!
I also did not use a castle nut. I undid the bolts from the other end and tapped them through.
