Well today I reached my Rubicon.

Went into the garage and took the bike down to very little.

Doesn't even look like a bike anymore.

Took the bearings out of the swingarm

Basically I used a vice, some wood and a few sockets

Bought a cheap tank recently as mine was rusted beyond repair in my opinion.

Inside very clean but needs a mild repair and a spray in the faster colour.

Anyway...the guy didn't tell me there was no key

Image

That's sorted

Image

I made an effort to drill my ignition out and it went wrong so I smashed it to pieces awaiting a new lock set!

Over today and tomorrow leaving frame, subframes, yokes, swingarm and wheels into the powder coaters who are also fixing up and spraying the tank.

Image

On a plus note I checked out the shock linkage and seems all is good there.

Having paid 70 to David silver spares for the entire swingarm bearing kit I didn't want to pay anymore.

Lots and lots to go

Long way to go. After today it'll have been reduced to an undertray and a wiring loom!

^^^smart ass^^^ Haha

Yes mate absolutely battered my finger with the hammer.
Yokes were a bit of a pain partly my fault. Partly...

The number plate came with it but will be getting smaller!

My mate may be regretting it at this point but he hasn't told me. To be fair it can't actually get worse haha.

Looks like a bomb went off. That's where encouragement has pushed me. This was not at all planned
Just wanted to tidy the thing up a bit to be honest. Better be worth it in the end as it's been a lot of time, effort and cash.

Happy to have given it a go.

All done

Realised today the front wheel I picked up is damaged. That annoyed me.

I had to include some bins as I've been leaving them out a bit!
